Short Biography:

Professor Doctor. He is also a researcher associated with the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (Cebrap) and the Center for Studies in Culture and Economics, at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (NUCEC-UFRJ). He holds a doctorate in sociology from the University of São Paulo and from the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy of the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies.

He holds master's degrees in sociology from the London School of Economics and Political Science and in legal sociology from the Department of Philosophy and General Theory of Law at the University of São Paulo.

He has expertise in ethnography of economic practices, economic sociology and anthropology, exchange theory, cultural sociology, material culture, and political economy.
