The PPGS offers Masters and Doctoral level programs – the latter for those holding a Master’s degree. 
 
Deadline for completing the programs:
► Masters – 30 (thirty) months
► Doctoral Degree – 48 (forty-eight) months
► Direct Doctoral Degree (for specific cases; see the PPGS Statute) – 66 (sixty-six) months
 
Credits Required:
► Masters – 104 (one hundred and four) credit units, of which 32 (thirty-two) are acquired from attending disciplines, and 72 (seventy-two) from the dissertation
► Doctoral Degree (for those holding a Master’s degree) – 184 (one hundred and eighty-four) credit units, of which 24 (twenty-four) are acquired from attending disciplines, and 160 (one hundred and sixty) from the thesis
► Direct Doctoral Degree (without holding the title of Master) – 216 (two hundred and sixteen) credit units, of which 56 (fifty-six) are acquired from attending disciplines, and 160 (one hundred and sixty) from the thesis
 
Special Credits:
Four (4) special credits will be granted to students who complete the Supervised Internship in the Teaching Improvement Program (PAE).
 
Complementary Activities:
Students are required to attend the common mandatory complementary activities offered by the PPGS in the form of lectures, conferences, and thematic seminars.

Each semester, the Program will suggest mandatory attendance activities, which will never exceed 16 (sixteen) hours, and must have an attendance of least 8 (eight) hours. Students must attest their presence in mandatory activities by signing attendance lists drafted by the Program’s Secretariat.

Master’s students must send confirmation of minimum attendance per semester in these activities to the Program Coordinating Committee (CCP) by the end of the 18th (eighteenth) month, counting from the beginning of the established deadline, to ensure the continuity of their association to the Program.

Doctorate students, in turn, must send confirmation of their minimum semiannual attendance to the CCP by the end of the 24th (twenty-fourth) month after the beginning of the established deadline to ensure their association to the PPGS.
