Selection Process:
The selection process for admission in the PPGS, whether at the Masters or Doctorate level, obeys the guidelines laid out in a specific notice (see the 2020 Masters and Doctorate notices here).
Selection for the Direct Doctorate, which depends upon the previous completion of the Master's course, obeys specific guideline for students enrolled in the PPGS Masters (see the Rules and Regulations in the PPGS Statute).
To apply for the PPGS Selection Process, students must demonstrate foreign language proficiency by taking a specific test or presenting a valid certificate.
The PPGS has a specific notice for defining the accepted languages, tests, and proficiency exam certificates, as well as the minimum required scores or concepts (see the notice here).

There are specific notices when applying for Master’s and Doctoral scholarships (from the federal funding agencies CNPq and CAPES) available at the PPGS (see the notices for each course here).
The scholarships of the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) follow this agency's specific rules and the advisor is responsible for submitting requests (see the notices for each course here).
Several other scholarship notices from international funding agencies are listed on the website of the USP Office of Graduate Studies (PRPG) as well as in the websites of funding agencies. Other possibilities also exist, such as the Fulbright Commission in Brazil, the Kellogg Foundation, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, etc.
