Short Biography:
Professor at the Dept. and the Postgraduate Program - Sociology at the University of São Paulo (USP) and Associate Researcher at the Center for Metropolis Studies, where she coordinates UrbanData - Brazil: database on urban Brazil. She has a degree in Social Sciences from UERJ, a postgraduate degree in Urban Sociology from the same university and a master's degree in Sociology from IUPERJ.
Her doctorate in History and Theory of Art and Architecture, carried out with a CAPES scholarship at Binghamton University (SUNY) and revalidated by the PPG in Social Sciences at UERJ, directed her to work with images that make up urban space and cultural alterity its focus of representation.
At undergraduate level, she teaches courses on sociological theory and research methods, as well as electives that, having a privileged analytical field on transnational mobilities, focus on urban themes, tourism, leisure and consumption.
In the context of the Social Research Laboratory (USP), he works in the line of research *Mobilities: concepts, themes and methods*, which he founded in partnership with Vera da Silva Telles and in dialogue with CeMoRe (Center for Mobilities Research, Lancaster University) , where he carried out his post-doctoral internship under the supervision of John Urry.
With Thiago Allis (EACH / USP), she organized the * First School of Advanced Science in Mobilities: Theory and Methods * which brought together, in 2017, several of the main names linked to the mobilities paradigm.
She was a guest researcher at the Center for Migration and Development at Princeton University, a guest professor at the Colegio de México (Cátedra Florestan Fernandes) and the Graduate Institute (Geneva), and Tinker Visiting Professor at the University of Texas at Austin.
She was an Associate Professor at the School of Social Sciences at CPDOC / FGV (2006 to 2015) and at the PPG in History, Politics and Cultural Goods at CPDOC- (2007 to 2017). Between 2010 and 2014, she was one of the Editors of Revista Estudos Históricos and, since November 2015, she has served on the Editorial Committee of Tempo Social magazine.

Professora Livre Docente do Dept. de Sociologia da Universidade de São Paulo (FFLCH/USP) e dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Sociologia (FFLCH/USP) e Turismo (EACH/USP). Pesquisadora Associada do Centro de Estudos da Metrópole, onde coordena o UrbanData - Brasil/CEM: banco de dados bibliográfico sobre o Brasil urbano. Possui graduação em Ciências Sociais pela UERJ, pós-graduação em Sociologia Urbana pela mesma universidade, mestrado em Sociologia pelo IUPERJ e doutorado em História e Teoria da Arte e da Arquitetura pela Universidade de Binghamton (bolsa de doutorado pleno CAPES). Lidera o grupo de pesquisa *MOBILIDADES: teorias, temas e métodos (MTTM)*, vinculado ao CNPq e também ao CeMoRe (Center for Mobilities Research, Lancaster University), onde realizou seu estágio de pós-doutoramento sob supervisão de John Urry. Esteve como pesquisadora no Center for Migration Development da Universidade de Princeton, como professora convidada no Colégio de México (Cátedra Florestan Fernandes) e no Graduate Institute of International Development Studies (Genebra). Foi Tinker Visiting Professor na Universidade do Texas em Austin (2016/17) e titular da Cátedra Fulbright Dra Ruth Cardoso de Estudos Brasileiros em Georgetown University (2021/22). Integrou a editoria da Revista Estudos Históricos (FGV) e da Tempo Social (USP). É coordenadora do projeto de extensão *Urbanidades: podcast sobre o Brasil urbano*, agraciado com Menção Honrosa na categoria Divulgação Científica da ANPOCS (2023). Está vinculada ao Núcleo de Etnografias Urbanas do CEBRAP, onde participa, como uma das pesquisadoras principais, do projeto *Global Cars* (FAPESP e ANR/França). Fez parte da diretoria da Sociedade Brasileira de Sociologia (gestão 2021/23). No âmbito do Plano Diretor Participativo Campus USP/Butantã, coordenou o GT Convivência, Segurança, Pertencimento e Relação com a Cidade.
